Wonderland Homes Helps Home Aid Celebrate the Grand Opening of Hope House’s Newly Built Resource Center

September 9, 2019

On September 5, 2019, Hope House Colorado hosted an open house to celebrate the grand opening of its newly built Resource Center. In partnership with HomeAid Colorado, Hope House is now able to serve a greater number of those in need in the Denver metro area. Wonderland Homes was proud to be among the organization’s 300 champions in attendance at the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

What Is Hope House?

Hope House Colorado has a clear, transforming mission: to empower teen mothers for a life of personal and economic self-sufficiency. The nonprofit has been serving teens in the Denver metro area since 2003. Founder and executive director Lisa Steven believes every mother deserves dignity and a safe place to live. She says, “each one of our girls is determined to provide a better, more stable life for her child. We are passionate about providing our girls that opportunity.” Hope House Colorado provides free services to hundreds of the area’s teen mothers. Through the residential program, young mothers are empowered to break the poverty cycle by learning healthy habits while living in a safe environment with their children. Young women also take advantage of community programs the organization offers, such as GED instruction, college & career planning, and parenting classes.

HomeAid: Hub of Philanthropy

HomeAid Colorado is the Colorado Association of Homebuilders’s charity of choice. HomeAid partners with other nonprofits throughout the state, such as Hope House, to create dignified, safe housing for the homeless. It was HomeAid’s 3-year collaboration with Hope House Colorado that made the new Resource Center in Arvada possible. Through this critical partnership, Hope House is now equipped to serve three times as many teen mothers in need of its support services and programs.
