Homebuilding 101
It's a very exciting process, watching your home appear before your very eyes. Because we've been building so long, our construction process is highly efficient and surprisingly fast. We'll be in constant communication, but here's a brief overview of the process:
Once the hole for your foundation is excavated, we place the forms for your foundation and pour concrete to create the foundation walls. After the concrete has cured, the forms are removed and the sub-basement plumbing, piping and water and sewer connections are made, tested and inspected. Then we pour concrete for the basement floor.
The next phase of construction includes framing, window and exterior door installation, siding and initial roofing. After framing, all of your mechanicals are run. At this point, you will have an opportunity to walk the home with your construction supervisor to make sure that all options and add-ons are as you've specified. Once we have your approval, we install insulation and hang drywall. Next comes interior trim and paint and installation of cabinets, hard surface flooring and countertops. Then we install HVAC, plumbing, electrical and low voltage fixtures. Finally, we install carpet and take care of any necessary touch-ups.
